The Machine We Use at Maya Laser Clinic
We use the Candela GentleMax Pro Laser System exclusively here at Maya Laser Clinic. It is one of the most advanced laser treatment units on the market today, and is a perfect fit for what we want to offer our clients. The Candela GentleMax Pro Laser System is a dual-wavelength delivery system with variable pulse duration, multiple spot sizes, and specialty spot sizes. Plus, the GentleMax Pro is the model that most optimally treats ALL skin types, from I-VI on the Fitzpatrick skin-type classification scale:
- Type I: White -always burns / never tans
- Type II: White – usually burns / difficult tan
- Type III: White -sometimes burns / tans fairly well
- Type IV: Olive – rarely burns / easy tan
- Type V: Brown – very rarely burns / easy tan
- Type VI: Black – never burns / very easy tan
The Candela GentleMax Pro Laser System gets high marks for laser hair removal and is appropriate for a variety of hair colors, hair thicknesses, skin types, and for different anatomical regions of the body. However, it will not treat white, blonde, or grey hairs, and is less effective for red hairs.
The GentleMax Pro is also well suited for treatment of vascular lesions like telangiectasia, angiomas, spider veins, pigmented lesions like solar lentigines, age spots, freckles, and textural irregularities on the skin. Full-face treatments (non-ablative photo rejuvenation) but also can be performed on photodamaged and aged neck, skin, chest, arms and hands.
The Candela GentleMax Pro Laser System is excellent for skin treatments for patients with excessive skin laxity, sagging of brow, jowl vectors, naso-labial folds and neck, non-dynamic (peri-oral, peri-orbital) wrinkles, superficial scars and irregular skin texture. It’s also used to treat pseudo folliculitis barbae (‘beard bumps’) and onychomycosis (nail fungus infection).
